Welcome to the homepage of the Hydrometeorology Group in the School of Meteorology and the School of Civil Engineering and Environmental Science at the University of Oklahoma. Our research seeks to improve weather and water prediction by better understanding the processes that govern atmospheric precipitation and its hydrologic impact at all scales. We combine state-of-the art remote sensing tools, innovative analysis of ground and satellite observations, and modeling. Our research improves the state of knowledge as well as real-world applications and operations. Take a minute and get to know who we are, look through our publications, and explore our projects.
Involves predictions about the effects of high precipitation events and attempts to mitigate them
Investigate the meteorological causes of flash flooding and implementing on tools to improve the science behind flash flood forecasts and warnings
Involves predictions about the effects of high precipitation events and attempts to mitigate them. Using the provided high resolution reflectivity and estimated velocity data, which is vital to short term forecasting and severe weather prediction
